My name is Manuel, from Malaga, I went to Turkey to participate in the project: «Combating extremism with youth force» a project with a very interesting name for me, because working with young people as a social educator and given the news that we find every day in the media (homophobic crimes, sexist, racist …) could be a positive training to share with young people and work with them values such as tolerance, respect or equality.

The training was very dynamic and enjoyable for the most part, fostering a good working atmosphere and knowledge of all participants and countries participating in the training. The schedule was well structured and with enough hours to rest, eat and get to know the rest of the colleagues in a more relaxed atmosphere.

During the trainings they distributed a series of tasks to involve the participants in the regulations, some were dedicated to the covid measures, which, were attentive to that all had the mask, another group, to carry out dynamics to start the workshops with joy, others of the cleaning and maintenance of the facilities….
Regarding the tutors, the content and the dynamics, everything was correct and interesting, except for a small organizational failure at the time of a film viewing, but they were able to solve it the same day. The attitude of the organizers, was splendid, close, attentive and cheerful to any need that was had.

The dynamics carried out in the workshop were very fun and interesting, they managed to teach the participants in a playful and attractive way. Sometimes the working groups were by countries, explaining their ways of working, legislation in concrete situations, showing different ways of working for the same problem. When the group was divided randomly, the way of working was different, as it was done through debates and discussion groups.

One thing I especially liked was the accommodation, as it was surrounded by nature. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. Having breakfast or lunch on the terrace became a habit. The pool and sauna invited to relax on hot days. An idyllic place, very suitable for training. The food could be improved, as there was little variety, perhaps I expected more typical things to eat, but the treatment of the waiters was great.

One of the things that worried me about the training was the way to relate to my colleagues, as I found it difficult to express myself in English on occasion. The group has been wonderful, showing patience and perseverance with me, as they encouraged me and helped me with the language whenever I needed it regardless of the country I was from.

In conclusion, having participated in the project, has been one of the best experiences I have lived, because despite the language barrier, I have been able to learn from all the colleagues (patience and listening skills for example), from the trainers (dynamics and concepts) and from the country (culture, gastronomy…) even from myself, because adapting to a group so varied at times and having to use a language in which you do not feel confident makes you see that you really know more than you think you do. Totally recommendable activity for everyone.

Finally, I would like to thank
the association Eo, eo the opportunity to participate in the project and to highlight their
highlight their good work with young people, they do an essential work for the youth of the province
